Over 1000 kilos of Cocaine Seized in Lybor Drug Bust

November 4th, 2023 – The biggest-ever drug seizure in the history of Grozovia was intercepted at Lybor International Airport on Saturday, Lybor police said.

Cocaine weighing 1,126 kg, worth an estimated 3 billion homolka (78 million euros), was seized from multiple civilian grade aircrafts traveling from the Republic of Chernarus, Minister of the Interior Vasyl Novikov said at a news conference in Zagorsk on Sunday.

“It is the largest drug seizure in the history of Grozovia,” Vladamir Kravets, Assistant Commissioner of the Lybor Police Force, said at the same conference.

“This is a hugely significant operation and it shows our unrelenting determination to disrupt and dismantle networks which are determined to bring drugs into our country,” Kravets added.

One man, age 46, has been arrested on suspicion of organized crime and is currently being questioned at an undisclosed location in Zagorsk, according to a press release given by the Ministry of Information earlier today.

Officers said the drugs originated from Chernarus and were bound for crime groups in Grozovia, Ardistan, and Russia.

A task force composed of members of the Lybor Police Force, the Grozovian Armed Forces & Chernarussian Intelligence coordinated to detain multiple civilian-grade aircraft in the late hours of Saturday, according to officials.

“Yesterday was an extremely complex day from a military perspective and the defence forces ran an extremely complex military operation,” Serzhant Bogdan Grisha, squad commander of Alpha company, first platoon, first squad of the GAF’s 9th Motorized Regiment.

“It was (made) even more complex by environments that we had no control over. The weather and lighting conditions were less than ideal and also we were trying to predict the actions of a number of crime gangs and how that would impact us. But it was very successful from a defence force point of view.”

The intelligence-led operation was conducted in collaboration with the Green Sea Analysis and Operations Centre – Narcotics (GSAOC-N) based in Zagorsk, according to officials. The GSAOC-N is a joint initiative by the Republics of Grozovia & Chernarus with the goal of eradicating organized crime in the greater Green Sea region.
