February 2nd, 2024 – Today, President Nikhala el-Rehman of the Islamic Republic Ardistan announced the conclusion of its first and largest joint military exercise with the neighboring Islamic Emirate of Takistan. In a speech preluding a parade in the Ardistani capital of Tohrin, President Nikhala addressed the nation, stating;
“These exercises, marked by discipline, cooperation, and mutual respect, have not only strengthened our military capabilities but have also fostered a bond of friendship and understanding between our two nations.”
Despite previous tensions between the nations as the two Islamic powers of the Green Sea region, Ardistan and Takistan have transcended the previous challenges of cooperation and collaboration. Through diplomatic channels and dialogue, the two countries sought common grounds in the pursuit of overlapping regional economic interests. However, the military exercises that were conducted in the Southern reaches of Ardistan came as a shock to the rest of the Green Sea nations. What was once thought to be an economic cooperation has become a military alliance seen as “uneasy” in the eyes of the Republics of Grozovia and Chernarus.

Amidst the border skirmishes and numerous incidents on the Grozovian-Ardistan border on January 27th, such large maneuvers close to the Grozovian border has raised many concerns. Leonid Kotenko, President of the Republic of Grozovia, addressed the nation with his statement on the situation:
“The cooperation between Ardistan and Takistan undoubtedly and understandably raises concerns for us… As your president, I want to assure you that the government of Grozovia is engaging in diplomatic dialogue with our neighbors. Let us continue to uphold the values of peace, diplomacy, and cooperation that define our nation. And let us trust in the resilience of our democracy and the strength of our unity.”
